Threat to mother lands son behind bars for Thanksgiving

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Lufkin Police have arrested a 19-year-old suspect after responding to an assault/family violence call early Thanksgiving morning.

Police say John Jacob Brantley, 19, threatened to hurt his mother and sisters when he raised his hand to them and threatened them with bodily harm.  They say Brantley was arrested without incident. 

Brantley was booked into the Angelina County Jail on a Class C misdemeanor charge of Assault (by threat/Family violence).

The incident occurred just before 3 a.m. in the 900 block of South First Street.
