TYLER COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A four-hour search for a missing 18-month-old boy at a Tyler County park ended Thursday with officials finding him dead in Lake Steinhagen.
According to a press release from the Tyler County Sheriff's Office, authorities received a call around 4 p.m. about a missing 18-month-old at Magnolia Ridge Park, who had apparently wandered away from his family's campsite.
After a four-hour search, the boy was found dead in Lake B.A. Steinhagen.
Justice of the Peace Steven Sturrock pronounced him dead around 8:15 p.m. and ordered an autopsy.
The sheriff's office is not yet releasing the identity of the boy or his family.
Tyler County constables, game wardens and volunteer fire departments assisted in the search.
