Another storm system is on the move, which means rain and thunderstorms will return to Deep East Texas today.
Some of the rain will be heavy at times, capable of producing rainfall totals on the average of one half to one inch. There will be some areas across the Pineywoods that receive even higher amounts before the day is done.
The wet weather is only part of the story. Once the rain moves out Saturday night, the colder air will follow in its footsteps. The colder air will be blowing in behind a strong, Canadian cold front. Winds will pick up out of the north at 20 mph on Saturday afternoon, leading to temperatures falling quickly as we head through the afternoon hours.
This cold air will settle in and last through most of next week, with several nights of low temperatures near the freezing mark.
