LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Woodville man who pleaded guilty to 2008 to being intoxicated during a wreck in which he injured a woman is going to a substance abuse facility for up to a year.

Angelina County Adult Probation Director Rodney Thompson said Jerry Wayne Anderson, 52, had made a couple technical probation violations and agreed to serve in Substance Abuse Felony Punishment for nine to 12 months. Thompson said he could not comment on the specific violations.

Anderson pleaded guilty to intoxicated assault in 2008, following an October 2007 wreck in which he injured a woman on State Highway 63, south of Zavalla.

Anderson was passed out in his car when the victim hit his car, spun out of control and hit a tree.

She was seriously injured and is still recovering ten months later.
