"The Democrats fear me."
That's what State Representative Wayne Christian said Monday in Nacogdoches during a stop on his "Christian For Congress" campaign.
The four-term republican state representative says his experience and working relationship with President Bush make him the best candidate for the new first Congressional district.
Christian traveled throughout the district in an effort to keep his race in the minds of the voters.
"Right now the interest seems to be in the northern section. The Ratliff seat, there's a runoff there for another week and a half or so. So that leaves about one month or less for people to really focus in on the U.S. Congressional race, and that's why it's going to be a very short and intense one-month race," said Christian.
There are six republican candidates seeking the party's nomination. Incumbent Democrat Max Sandlin of Marshall is unopposed in the March primary.
