More wet weather on tap for Deep East Texas

Posted: Updated:
EAST TEXAS (KTRE) -

A wet weather pattern will continue for Deep East Texas, giving us the opportunity to capitalize on some beneficial rainfall.  The rain and thunder will make for a wet commute this morning, so make sure to slow down and use caution on all the roadways.

In addition to needing your umbrella today, make sure to take your jacket as well.  For the second day in a row, temperatures will hover in the upper 40's to lower 50's and not change much, as a result of the overcast skies and frequent rain showers.

We will see an additional one to two inches of rain, with some spots receiving even more by the time we end today.  This soaking, persistent rainfall will do wonders for our ground soils, and should help put a dent in our rainfall deficit for the year.

To get instant radar updates, make sure to head over to our StormTracker Weather Center.  It is there where you can view our live streaming radar.  If you would like to take over the radar controls and zoom down to your local streets, please try our Interactive Radar.

If you are on the go, you can download our  KTRE Weather app, which gives you access to our Interactive Radar, hour-by-hour forecasts, weather alerts, and so much more.
