Secretary of State Colin Powell says the longer Mideast peace efforts are stalled, the harder it will be to achieve peace.
At the State Department today, Powell condemned the latest suicide bombing in Israel. A Palestinian bomber set off a bag of explosives on a Jerusalem bus, killing ten people and injuring 50 others.
Powell says neither side can "get moving" on peace efforts because of such terrorist attacks. And he says that's making it tougher to reach the goals laid out in the U.S. backed "road map" peace plan.
Powell says "It's time to end the terror." And he adds, "The Palestinian leadership has to realize this and face it."
Following the bombing, Israel canceled a planned meeting on the humanitarian crisis in Palestinian areas. The meeting was to have included the Americans, Palestinians and international donors.
