LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - There's a great opportunity to get in the holiday spirit of giving. The community donation drive benefiting The Family Crisis Center of East Texas is Saturday.
The Family Crisis Center Thrift stores in Lufkin on Timberland Drive and in Nacogdoches on North Street will accept clothing, shoes, books, house wares, furniture, and more. These donations are tax deductible and benefit victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
"Without good donations, we don't have items to put out on the floor to sell. And, you know, without those sales, we, you know, don't generate as much income. And, you know, once again; that income goes back to our agency," said Family Crisis Center Executive Director, Heather Kartye.
All proceeds directly benefit The Family Crisis Center of East Texas. The drive will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The stores will also accept donations anytime during their regular business hours as well.
