Jackson Family "Friend" Disputes Vanity Fair Article

A man calling himself a "friend" of Michael Jackson's family calls a controversial article "trash."

Firpo Carr told reporters today in California that a Vanity Fair story that reports Michael Jackson served children wine in soda cans is "irresponsible yellow journalism."

Carr says Jackson's family is outraged by the story. He disputes several points in the story, including the reporter's claim to have tried to contact family members. He also criticized the use of unnamed and allegedly tenuous sources in the article.

The story reports Jackson has been in and out of rehab for Demerol and morphine.

Carr says Jackson "had a problem getting off painkillers."
