Former Nacogdoches County Sheriff John R. Lightfoot was remembered Friday at funeral services that attracted law enforcement from across the state.
The Nacogdoches County Peace Officers Association and the East Texas Peace Officers Association, an organization that was founded by Lightfoot, served as honorary pallbearers.
One guest said he had never seen so many generals in one place. Top officials with all the state law enforcement agencies were in attendance, but no one got more notice than two sheriff's department bloodhounds brought to the services.
Lightfoot was an avid fox hunter who raised award winning fox hounds.
