Two New Streets Dedicated to Two Longtime Townsmen

Two street dedications took place today in Lufkin, both named after long time service members to the community. One street is named after former City Manager Harvey Westerholm who served in that post for 21-years. The other street is named after former City Councilman Don Boyd who served almost 30-years. Although both men have passed away, family members say the street dedications will make sure that their memory lives on.

"Being Hharvey's daughter, I love him very much but it was very nice to know that other people thought enough of him to put his name on a street sign and name the street after him. So there's always a little rememberence of Harvey and what he has done for the city."  Shannon Shadday, daughter of Harvey Westerholm said.

Both streets are located behind the fresh market brookshire brothers on chestnut.
