American Soldier Killed in Central Iraq

An American soldier has been killed in a rocket attack on an Army base in central Iraq.

Twelve others were wounded, two of them seriously.

The Army says the rocket landed inside a logistics support base of the Fourth Infantry Division. The base is 50 miles south of the division's headquarters in Tikrit.

Troops detained 16 people for questioning, including four women.

The attack took place in the Sunni Triangle, where most of the attacks on Americans have occurred.
