Democrats Have Raised and Spent Millions on Race for President

Easy come, easy go for Howard Dean's campaign finances.

Campaign reports show the Democratic fundraising leader has already spent at least 32 million dollars of the 41-million he's raised.

The former Vermont governor's top expenses have been staff and consultants at eight-and-a-half million.

Others have both raised and spent less. Wesley Clark reports bringing in 14 million dollars last year, with three million still in the bank as of January first.

As the year began, Connecticut senator Joe Lieberman had just 350-thousand dollars left to spend.

Reports for John Edwards and John Kerry haven't yet been made available.

Democrats' bank accounts are all dwarfed by the president's war chest. So far, his tally is some 140 million dollars.
