ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man is arrested for allegedly stealing jewelry possibly worth thousands of dollars.
Investigators said, Chad Garland Crawford, 35, of Lufkin stole the jewelry from the victim's residence and then pawned it at two Lufkin pawn shops.
On December 8, the victim contacted the Angelina County Sheriff's Office to report a theft.
The victim told sheriff's deputies she allowed Crawford and another person that has not been arrested to live with her because they were having financial problems.
The victim stated she allowed the two to stay in the extra bedroom of her house but they were not allowed in her bedroom.
Since Thanksgiving, the victim noticed things were missing from her home.
Authorities said, the woman began to notice jewelry from her room and tools from the house were missing. She stated that the jewelry and tools stolen was worth about $5,000.
Investigators say they took a detailed description of the missing jewelry from the victim. They later confirmed that Crawford had pawned some the stolen jewelry at Insta-Cash Pawn and Ken's Express Pawn, both in Lufkin.
Crawford was arrested and booked into the Angelina County Jail on Thursday on a theft charge, a state jail felony.
