2 Beckville students killed in one vehicle rollover wreck

SHELBY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Two students from Beckville were killed early Sunday morning following a rollover wreck.

According to DPS report, 4 students were traveling westbound on FM 2026 in a 2004 Ford pickup. Around 1:10 a.m. the car left the roadway, overturned, and rolled over 1 mile from CR 4328.

The driver, Daniel Cooks, a student from Beckville, was pronounced dead on the scene at 2:55 a.m. by Judge J. Powers. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

One passenger, Victoria Cooks, 18, a student from Beckville was also pronounced dead at 2:55 a.m. by Judge J. Powers. She also was not wearing a seatbelt.

The other two passengers were taken to the hospital for injuries. Samdray Cooks, 19, a student from Beckville, was taken in fair condition to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport. She is being treated for back injuries. She also was not wearing a seatbelt. Christopher Walton, 17, a student from Carthage was taken to Shelby Memorial Hospital in Center for contusions and abrasions. He's listed in good condition. He also was not wearing a seatbelt.

The bodies of Daniel Cooks and Victoria Cooks have been taken to Community Funeral Home in Center. Their families have been notified.
