Fire At Lufkin Middle School

There has been a fire at Lufkin Middle School. No injuries have been reported, although there is extensive smoke damage to a classroom in the sixth grade wing.

Classes will go on as scheduled using a rotating schedule that should not affect class times. Fire and emergency crews are at the school.  Superintendent David Sharp says at this time it does not appear to be arson.  They suspect a possible electrical fire.

Fire and emergency crews are at the campus on stand-by as a precaution.  The fire marshall is trying to determine the exact cause of the fire.

We will have more on and on The East Texas News as this story continues to unfold.
