A woman was hospitalized after her car was apparently broad-sided Friday afternoon on Highway 69, north of Lufkin.
Around 4:00 p.m., witnesses on the scene said a white pickup trying to cross Highway 69 on FM 2021 struck the passenger side of a tan, Toyota sedan.
The driver of the Toyota, Regina Morrison Kiel, was moved from her car to a stretcher, before being transported by ambulance to Lufkin Memorial Hospital. According to State Trooper Clint Henderson, Kiel appeared to be in stable condition when she left the scene.
The driver of the truck, Bradley Brandon, 17, was up and walking at the scene and refused medical attention. Brandon was ticketed by DPS for failure to yield at a stop intersection.
Central Volunteer Fire Department was first on the scene and secured the accident site and re-routed traffic until paramedics arrived.
Northbound Highway 69 traffic was blocked for a short time.
