LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police Department responded to a burglary in progress at a residence in the 800 block of Shermell Street, around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Neighbors reported witnessing a Hispanic male, driving a pickup, pull into the yard of the residence and smash the front window. They said he then entered the house, took a TV, and left at a high rate of speed toward Atkinson Drive, with the TV in the truck.

Shortly thereafter, an officer working DWI Enforcement spotted and stopped the pickup truck, which was described by witnesses, on South Raguet Street, near Ellis Street.

The passenger in the vehicle, Troy Deltoro, 21, matched the description neighbors provided at the scene. The driver of the truck was his mother, Cynthia Deltoro. During investigation, the stolen television was recovered from the Deltoro's apartment. Troy Deltoro was arrested and charged with burglary.
