San Augustine will continue to distribute drinking water Monday, Jan. 2nd

SAN AUGUSTINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The City and County of San Augustine will continue water distribution to the customers served by the City of San Augustine Water; which includes, San Augustine Rural Water and Bland Lake Rural Water.

Water will be distributed Monday, January 2nd from noon until 5 p.m. at the San Augustine County Rodeo Arena / Expo Center.

The county is still under a boil water notice. This means everyone should bring water to a rolling boil for three minutes.

Allow the water to cool before using

Store cooled water, boiled water or bottled water for:

  • Drinking
  • Brushing teeth
  • Preparing food and baby formula
  • Making ice
  • Pets

Even though City of San Augustine water is not approved for drinking unless boiled, it has been treated and it is approved for bathing and washing clothes.

This advisory is in effect until the San Augustine Water System and County are confident there is no longer a public health concern.  We will provide the next update as soon as the permanent repair has been made and TCEQ has tested and approved the water for consumption.
