LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin woman pleaded no-contest to a charge of kicking a young child in the chest, accepting a probation deal.
Versia Darcel Walker, 21, received two two-year probation sentences on charges of injury to a child and assault.
Lufkin Police arrested Walker in June after she was accused of kicking a five-year-old boy in the chest.
According to the arrest report, the boy and witnesses reported to a Lufkin Police officer that Walker instigated an altercation with woman outside a residence on Lark Street.
The officer learned that during the altercation, Walker attempted to punch the other female. The other adult took hold of Walker, according to the report. Witnesses and the victim stated that while the other female was holding Walker, the child approached the altercation and Walker intentionally kicked him in the chest, sending him several feet backwards.
