LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A new year means a new look and a new plan to market Angelina County.
The Angelina County Chamber of Commerce unveiled a new logo Tuesday afternoon. Leaders say it's time for a fresh start. It's been 8 years since the logo was last changed.
The new logo reflects the more dynamic, restructured, and progressive chamber with the same mission. One of their top goals for 2012 is developing a new sports complex for the area.
"We've added a lot of brand new staff over the last several months. They've generated a great bundle of new ideas, and one of them was to look at the changing of the direction of the chamber. So, that's kind of where we are," said Chamber President, Jerry Huffman.
The Angelina County Chamber of Commerce plans to offer a new jobs board, helping businesses network with applicants. They're also rolling out a "red carpet salute" to new businesses and offering chamber members special discounts in the community.
