NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - It's a bit more difficult for drivers along Loop 224 in Nacogdoches to see the progress underway at the County's new emergency center.
The roof and walls are up, so the work is moving indoors. Construction is well underway on the interior. A stage, a large room for special functions, and shower and restroom space are taking shape.
"Once the roof got on, then things seem to be moving pretty fast now," said Joe English, Nacogdoches County Judge. "They can work on days like today when it's raining and so it's moving pretty fast now. And it's real obvious it's taking shape."
A ribbon cutting has been scheduled for August 30th. The facility will be used for special functions. During emergencies it can house evacuees or emergency workers.
