LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police have arrested a licensed nurse accused of stealing 60 pain pills from the nursing home in which he worked.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, police began investigating the crime in November when the director at Stoneleigh Estates, located at 1712 North Timberland Drive, reported that 60 narcotic pain pills were missing from the medicine cabinet.

The director said all employees who had access to the medicine cabinet took a drug test and all passed it except Joshua Chance Ford, 25, of Lufkin, who worked as a nurse at the home.

The detective conducted a polygraph with Ford, who admitted to taking the pills, according to the affidavit. Ford said he would document that he gave the hydrocodone pills to patients but he would keep them for himself instead.

The detective obtained a warrant for Ford's arrest on January 5. Ford was booked into the Angelina County Jail on Thursday, where he posted a $2,500 bond.
