Groveton coach arrested on improper relationship charge

TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Groveton softball coach is accused of having an improper relationship with a minor. He was arrested on the charge on Thursday.

Jeremy Carroll, 30, of Groveton, is charged with improper relationship between an educator and student.

Constable Woody Wallace said Carroll turned himself in to the district attorney's office. He said he is on administrative leave from the school until the next school board meeting.

Wallace said Carroll is a softball coach at the school, but did not reveal much more about the allegations, in order to protect identities of the victims.

Wallace said text messages connected Carroll to the crime.
