Feds arrest Nacogdoches felon on gun charge

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Federal authorities have arrested a Nacogdoches man accused of being a felon and owning a gun.

Willie Cornelius Gray, 23, was booked into the Angelina County Jail on Jan. 19.

According to a federal indictment, Gray owned a Taurus 38-caliber pistol. Gray was convicted of delivery of a controlled substance in Gregg County on Feb. 2, 2010.

Federal law prohibits any felons from owning guns.

A grand jury indicted Gray of the new charge on Jan. 12.

Gray is scheduled for a jury selection and trial on March 12 in the Lufkin federal courthouse. He has until Feb. 14 to file a motion for continuance.
