Spurger woman dies in rain-related wreck

TYLER COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Spurger woman died after hydroplaning her car into an SUV on a Tyler County road Tuesday afternoon.

Terri Lorene Harris, 47, died on the scene at 4:53 p.m., which was on FM 1013, four miles east of Hillister.

According to the DPS report, Harris was driving a 2000 Ford Mustang eastbound at 4:28 p.m. when she hydroplaned and hit a westbound 2008 Chevy SUV, driven by Dennis Edward Hardie, 78, of Woodville.

Hardie is listed in fair condition with contusions and abrasions at a Woodville hospital. His passenger, Sally Ertell Hoff, 72, of Woodville, is listed in poor condition with broken bones and internal injuries at a Woodville hospital.

Conditions were listed as wet and rainy. Both drivers and the passenger were wearing seatbelts.
