Man hit by SUV on Timberland Drive

LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) -

A man is being flown to a Tyler hospital for serious internal injuries after being hit by an SUV on Timberland Drive Friday morning.

Cpl. Nick Malone of Lufkin Police said a man was in the turning lane on the 400 block of North Timberland Drive when he was hit by a 2003 Chevy Tahoe, driven by Johnathan McGinty, 30, of Huntington, at 11:20 a.m., which was traveling northbound.

Lt. David Young confirmed the pedestrian was taken by ambulance to the heli-pad at Lufkin Memorial Hospital.

Malone said police are still investigating the accident, as there are conflicting reports from witnesses.
