Autopsy rules Lufkin businessman's death a suicide

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - An autopsy report confirms that a Lufkin businessman's death was the result of a suicide by gunshot.

Jerry Dale Ray, 64, died Jan. 4 after Angelina County Sheriff's deputies responded to a welfare concern and found Ray with a gunshot wound to the head. Ray was the owner of Ray's Drive-In and Ray's West.

An autopsy, which was completed on Jan. 26, concluded Ray died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

A toxicology report showed Ray had a blood-alcohol content of .151. The legal limit for intoxication in Texas is .08.
