Lufkin Police have arrested a man accused of raping a 16-year-old girl at a party.
Royce Keith Westbrook Jr., 22, of Lufkin, is charged with sexual assault of a child, a second-degree felony.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the girl said she was at a party and drinking with several other people on Jan. 21. She said she fell asleep around 5 a.m. and awoke to find Westbrook sexually assaulting her.
The girl said she left the residence before reporting the incident.
A detective spoke with Westbrook, who admitted to having sex with the girl, but that it was consensual, according to the affidavit. He also said he did not know the girl was only 16.
Police obtained a warrant for his arrest on Jan. 25. Detectives arrested Westbrook on the felony charge and three Class C misdemeanors at his residence at 11:55 a.m. Tuesday.
He is being held in the Angelina County Jail on a collective bond of $21,500.
