Good news for women in need of pre-natal care. The Mother Frances Family CARE Center just received more money to give you free or inexpensive doctor visits. The March of Dimes awarded the Mother Frances clinic more than $90,000 in grant money.
The money will be used to help more women get the sonograms and prenatal treatment they need, even if they don't have insurance. Felicitias Jimenez says the clinic has helped her a lot. Through an interpreter, she said she's had three of her children there.
"She says if it weren't for Family CARE she would have gone back to Mexico because expenses are real expensive and we provide her with sonograms and help her with other medical bills," says Jimenez’s interpreter.
On average, the Family CARE Center delivers 150 babies a month. Many of the more than 9,000 patients served by the center are uninsured, low income, and at risk. If you are interested in learning more about the services Family CARE can provide you, call them at 903-535-9041.
