NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Nacogdoches County constable's investigation into drug activity in the area has resulted in four arrests following a raid on Old Tyler Road Thursday morning.

According to Constable Jason Bridges, his office has been working on the investigation for a month following a traffic stop which occurred in Precinct 4. Bridges said his office was able to determine the drugs from that stop were coming from a distributor on Old Tyler Road.

Bridges sought assistance from the Nacogdoches Police SWAT team after determining the warrant search could be dangerous.

Officers from the SWAT team and Bridges' office conducted the search at 5 a.m. Thursday and Bridges said one of the suspects jumped out of his bed and ran toward a weapon, but was quickly taken down by the SWAT team.

Bridges said the search resulted in the seizure of three pounds of marijuana, a gram of cocaine, two pistols, a sawed-off shotgun and $1,790 in cash.

Arrested on the scene were Courtney Bell, 25, Corey Roberts, 26, Jerry Bell, 24, and Sharvonte Cannon, 19, all from Nacogdoches. All are charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
