8 jurors remain to be selected in fmr. nurse's capital murder trial

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Eight more jurors are needed for the Kimberly Saenz case.  

Kimberly Clark Saenz, 38, of Pollok, is charged with capital murder and five counts of aggravated assault, stemming from a 2008 case in which five people died and five were severely injured at the Lufkin DaVita dialysis clinic. Investigators suspect Saenz injected the patients with bleach while they were receiving treatments.

The Angelina County District Attorney's Office is pursuing the death penalty for Saenz.

Jury selection continued Thursday with several jurors being dismissed without interviews, as their questionnaires were sufficient enough for lawyers to review.

The lawyers are looking to talk to at least 13 more jurors before the jury of 12 and possibly 4 alternates will be complete.
