Heavy rain and strong storms likely this weekend - KTRE.com | Lufkin and Nacogdoches, Texas

As storms move out, cooler air set to move in

EAST TEXAS (KTRE) -

After a stormy and wet night across East Texas, skies will begin to dry out as we go through the rest of your weekend.  Despite all the rumbling in the night sky, storms managed to stay below severe limits, making this another nice rain event for the Piney Woods.

A cold front has moved through East Texas and will push the rain and thunderstorms to our east, while at the same time, ushering in some cooler temperatures for the next several days.

The air behind this front is still not all that cold, but we will at least get back to feeling a little bit more like the calendar month we are currently in.

To get a more detailed look at your forecast for the rest of your weekend, you can head to our StormTracker Weather Center

If you have an Android or iPhone, you can download our StormTracker 9 weather app, which is available in the App store. Our KTRE Weather app gives you access to our Interactive Radar, hour-by-hour forecasts, severe weather alerts, and so much more.  As seen from past events, our weather app is quite handy to have on hand, especially if your home or business were to lose power.
