Local Reaction to Gibson Movie

Tonight, some East Texans were finally able to decide what they thought of the film, "The Passion of the Christ", for themselves. First Christian Church in Nacodgoches purchased more than 400 tickets at the Carmike Cinema in Nacogdoches for two pre-screenings this evening.

The cinema was filled to capacity as the congregation came together to share the story that they say, has shaped their lives.

"This is the heart of the gospel. It is the most important event in the history of our faith. So it's an important event to see together," said Terry Hodge, the pastor of First Christian Church of Nacogdoches.

Hodge says he will be using the movie to guide his sermons for the next few weeks, and will be answering the countless questions he expects the movie to provoke.
