LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police arrested a woman Friday evening after she allegedly stabbed her brother with a steak knife in an argument.
According to the report, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Locke Street at 6:04 p.m. in reference to a stabbing. The call came from a woman who said she needed an ambulance because she had just stabbed her brother. When officers arrived, they found Xavier Walker, 18, standing on the front porch and had a large amount of blood covering the front of his shirt.
The officer spoke with the victim who was clearly upset but said he was OK and that his sister, Shakira Walker, 17, was inside. The officer went into the house and saw her in the kitchen mopping up blood. She was taken outside and said she stabbed her brother because he had assaulted her, according to the report.
The officer spoke to the siblings' grandmother, who said they were arguing and the sister said if he did not stop she was going to stab him. The grandmother said the two walked into the kitchen and the sister used a steak knife to stab her brother on the left side of his neck. She said they then began fighting before Xavier Walker ran out the front door and that his sister called 911. The grandmother said she was upset that she had stabbed her brother and because she had made a mess throughout the house, so she made her mop up the blood.
Xavier Walker was taken to Lufkin Memorial for treatment and Shakira Walker was taken into custody on a charge of aggravated assault.
The report states the argument concerned Xavier Walker harassing his sister about her sexual preference.
