Police: Nacogdoches man drops cocaine during traffic stop

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches Police arrested a man Monday night after he allegedly dropped a bag of cocaine onto the ground during a traffic stop.

According to the police report, officer stopped Derrick Lamarc Wyatt, 27, of Nacogdoches, on a traffic violation on the 1200 block of Douglass Road at 7:56 p.m. Officers learned Wyatt had active municipal warrants and asked him to get out of his vehicle.

When Wyatt got out of the vehicle, the report states he unknowingly dropped a clear plastic bag containing suspected crack cocaine on the ground. A search revealed he also had suspected ecstasy and marijuana, according to the report.

Wyatt is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of marijuana.
