NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - An Arkansas man will serve probation for five years after pleading guilty Wednesday morning to trafficking marijuana through Nacogdoches County.
Hector Manuel Alvarado pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana. In addition to the probation sentence, he must also pay a $5,000 fine.
Alvarado was arrested in June after a Nacogdoches County trooper found 40 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of his 2003 Hyundai Sonata. The trooper conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 59, after catching Alvarado not wearing a seatbelt.
