ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Angelina County Sheriff's investigators have arrested a Lufkin man accused of stealing numerous bottles of liquor and a 12-pack of beer from a Mexican restaurant in the Pollok area.

Mitchell Bradley Rhodes, 29, is charged with burglary of a building and criminal mischief.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the owner of El Taurino, located at 3900 U.S. 69 North, contacted the sheriff's office to report a burglary sometime overnight on Feb. 4. The owner said unknown people entered the restaurant and stole numerous bottles of liquor and a 12-pack of Shiner Bock beer. The suspect got into the building by prying open the back door. While inside, he bled throughout the restaurant.

The report says the suspect then went next door to Cycle Heaven and tried to get into that building by breaking out three windows, causing more than $600 in damage. However, he could not get into the building because the windows were reinforced with steel bars. When he broke out the windows, it set off an alarm, which notified the owner, according to the report.

The owner arrived on the scene and found Rhodes extremely intoxicated and bleeding, according to the report. The report states it appears he had been in a recent fight and he was carrying a knife and a 12-pack of Shiner Bock. The owner checked his identification and identified him as Rhodes before he left the scene.

The sheriff's office obtained a warrant for his arrest on Feb. 7 and arrested him the same day.

He is being held without bond as of 3:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Angelina County Jail.
