LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Huntington man pleaded guilty Friday for his part in a December meth lab bust.
James Thomas Ward, 26, accepted a two-year prison sentence on a drug charge and a concurrent six-month state jail sentence for illegally owning a weapon.
The investigation began in December when deputies arrived at the scene on Coach Redd Road. They say they smelled what they knew to be the odor of a meth lab. They knocked on the door to a small camper and when the occupant opened the door, deputies noticed the place to be full of smoke and the odor of the lab became overwhelming.
Arrested were Beth Ann Fetzer, 32, James Scott Harrelson, Alice Shianne Horton and Ward.
