Manhunt Ends in Suicide

A man suspected of armed robbery and kidnapping has shot himself... possibly fatally.

Police were on the lookout early this morning for Timothy Rushing. They believe he robbed a liquor store in Nacogdoches at gunpoint last night or early this morning. At some point he also kidnapped a white female, identified as his former girlfriend, along with her 12-year-old daughter. A little later, he dropped the daughter off unharmed.

This morning, authorities found his car near a small community about 10 miles east of Jacksonville. They also found the kidnapped woman who was okay.

Jacksonville police launched a manhunt for the suspect. When they located him and tried to arrest him, he shot himself. Authorities confirmed they have called a Justice of the Peace to the scene. Police believe the gun he used was stolen from a relative.
