One person killed, another critically injured in Diboll area wreck

ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Diboll man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Tuesday evening north of Diboll, according to authorities.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said David Bush, 24, was pronounced dead on County Road 62-A sometime after 4:40 p.m.

Bush's 2003 Chevy Silverado was traveling westbound when it left the rural road and struck a tree. Investigators said he was not wearing a seatbelt. A DPS trooper at the scene said it appeared Bush was ejected from the pickup.

Passenger Jessica McAdams, 16, of Diboll was also unbuckled. When emergency crews first arrived at the accident scene, McAdams was unresponsive. A Lufkin Fire Department ambulance transported her to Lufkin Memorial Hospital where she remains in critical condition with head injuries.

19-year-old Weston McLeroy, of Lufkin, was wearing a seatbelt. DPS reports he is in good condition with contusions and abrasions.

Diboll Police blocked off Pine Forest Road while ambulances arrived to transport victims.

Family members of the victims gathered along the dirt road while first responders worked to clear the scene.

A tow truck pulled the maroon extended-cab pickup out of a deep, wooded area before it was carried away.

Investigating Trooper Heith White's accident report indicated the cause of the wreck had not yet been determined.
