Heavy rain and storms set to move out this evening

EAST TEXAS (KTRE) - Showers and thunderstorms will continue to track across East Texas this afternoon.  These storms will contain very heavy rainfall and provide frequent cloud-to-ground lightning strikes.

So far today, we have had reports of street flooding in southern Polk county, just east of Livingston on Highway 3152.  We have also had reports of quarter size hail earlier this afternoon near Etoile, along Highway 103 and FM 226 in eastern Nacogdoches county.

The concern for the rest of today will be some ponding of water on roadway and some minor street flooding as pockets of heavy rain linger for parts of the Piney Woods.  Make sure you slow down as you make your way around East Texas this afternoon.
