Posted: Updated:
NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

According to a report first released by Chip Fontanazza of Metronews Sports, SFA defensive assistant Erik Slaughter will join West Virginia's football staff this fall.

Slaughter was with the Lumberjacks for 3 seasons and most recently in 2011 SFA's defense led the nation in in sacks (4.36 pg) and tackles for losses (10.18 pg).

No official report has been released from West Virginia at this time, but SFA officials did confirm that Slaughter no longer has an office in their field house.

Slaughter will join Shannon Dawson, former SFA offensive coordinator, on Dana Holgerson's new staff.

No word on any possible replacements at this time in Nacogdoches.
