Lufkin Police offering $2,000 reward for capital murder suspect

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police and Lufkin Crime Stoppers are offering up to $2,000 for a fifth man accused in the death of a Lufkin man on Feb. 7.

Rafael Orta, 19, is described as 5-foot-6-inches tall, 165 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Police warn anyone who thinks they see Orta to not try to apprehend him yourself. Instead, you can call Crime Stoppers at 936-639-TIPS.

Orta, Jesus Everado Vela Jr., 17, of Lufkin, Osvaldo Hernandez-Escamillia, 18, Geraldo Renteria, 18, and Jacob Woodard, 18, are accused in the Feb. 7 shooting death of Robert Darnell Bennett, on California Boulevard.
