DOUGLASS, TX (KTRE) - A Douglass student was injured and Nacogdoches County authorities are investigating criminal charges in a pocketknife stabbing on a school bus.
Sheriff Thomas Kerss said students were returning from a field trip Thursday afternoon and the bus was in the school parking lot when one student stabbed another with a pocketknife in the leg.
Kerss said the victim was taken to the hospital by private vehicle, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Kerss said investigators have interviewed the victim, but have not had success yet in reaching the suspect.
The school has taken administrative action against the suspect, who is an adult. Kerss said his office is investigating criminal charges.
Kerss will not release the name of the suspect, as he has not yet been charged with a crime.
