NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches Police have arrested a man who was accused of breaking into a woman's home and trying to rape a woman while she was sleeping.
According to the police report, a woman said she was sleeping at her residence on Main Street at 10 a.m. on Feb. 19 when an unknown person entered the room and tried to have sex with her. He then left the home.
The report was originally listed as a sexual assault, but police instead filed a charge of burglary of a habitation with intent for sex, a first-degree felony, on John Wesley Norred, 21, of Nacogdoches.
Norred turned himself in on the charge on Thursday.
Sgt. Greg Sowell said any further information on the case could possibly identify the victim, and he is prohibited by law from releasing it.
