ELM GROVE, LA (KSLA) -

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office confirms remains have been found in the Red River near the entrance to River Bend Marina, formerly known as Clark's Red River Marina in Elm Grove.

The body was found around 10:00 a.m. by Caddo deputies out patrolling the river as part of the Bassmaster Classic tournament, which got under way Friday morning.

There is no confirmation that the body is that of an East Texas man, missing since he and his cousin were thrown overboard when their fishing boat hit some rocks near the South Bossier Parish Marina on February 8th.

64-year-old Jerry Smith suffered a head injury and hypothermia. He was released from the hospital four days later.

LA Wildlife and Fisheries have been actively searching for the body of 63-year-old Dan Stanley, using cadaver dogs and sonar equipment, with assistance from local sheriff's departments.

The cousins are from Bivins, Texas.
