Warrants out for alleged Nacogdoches drug traffickers after they no-show

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

The Nacogdoches County district court is writing warrants for the arrests of two out-of-state residents accused of trying to traffic drugs through Nacogdoches after they no-showed court appearances Thursday.

Court records show Danetra Rainey, of Missouri, and Lendell Maurice Terrell, of Wichita, Kansas, did not show up for court appearances on Thursday. Warrants will be written for failure to appear in court.

Rainey was arrested in June after police pulled over a car for speeding around the 900 block of South Street. Once officers made contact with the two in the car, the report describes the officers suspecting illegal activity.

During a search of the vehicle, NPD's Officer Chasen Partin says 25.6 pounds of marijuana was discovered in the rear seating part of the car.  They arrested Rainey and Adrian Osborn for possession of marijuana.

Terrell was arrested in June when officers conducted a traffic stop with him after they said he was speeding on the 1700 block of Southwest Stallings Drive. Officers reported finding approximately two pounds of marijuana, which was located inside a bag in the vehicle.
