DOUGLASS, TX (KTRE) - A Douglass High School student has been arrested in connection to a stabbing on a school bus last week, according to the Nacogdoches County sheriff.

Sheriff Thomas Kerss said John Mark Kerr, 18, is charged with possession of weapon in a prohibited area.

Kerr is accused of stabbing Dustin Honea, 17, in the leg with a pocketknife following a field trip on Feb. 23.

Honea said he does not want to file assault charges on Kerr.

Kerss said Kerr was brought to the jail by his mother, where he was booked on a $3,500 bond.
