Traffic stop leads to meth bust, 2 arrests in Nacogdoches Co.

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office arrested two people Monday night following a traffic stop which yielded meth and two illegal guns.

Sheriff Thomas Kerss said deputies stopped a Chevy pickup at 11:30 p.m. on County Road 263 following a traffic violation.

Kerss said deputies used probable cause to search the truck and found eight grams of meth concealed in a hidden compartment in a false canister. While searching one of the suspects, they found ammunition for a .22 revolver, then found the revolver near the seat. They also found a rifle in the tool box of the vehicle.

Kerry Nichole Cummings, 27, of Garrison, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Bradley Dwayne Fountain, 24, of Center, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, felon in possession of a firearm and with a motor vehicle inspection violation.
